EAA Chapter 229

Winter Haven, FL

I'll keep you posted as I hear of any events planned.
The March meeting of EAA Chapter 229 was held Saturday, March 4 at the EAA hangar at KGIF Winter Haven, Florida.
The meeting was called to order by President Marla Boone at 9:00 am.  Walter Dix gave the treasurer's report.  There were no corrections or additions.  Old business included tie down sales at SNF.  Members should contact tie down chairman Dave McComber if they have any questions  or would like to volunteer.  Old business also included a request for usable tools to be donated to the chapter.

New business consisted of the following:

---Dave Hurd donated a book on welding to the chapter library.

---There is a recurring problem of the hangar being left in disarray after members us it.  Please turn off ALL lights.  Please note not all lights are on the switch by the main door.  If you turn it on, turn it off.

There was a strong request that members using the sheer clean up after themselves.  There have been repeated instances of members coming in to use the sheer and finding scrap metal from a previous use littering the area.  There is no maid service included with your dues.  PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:09 am with a motion by Dick Creswell and a second by Kate Gilbert.  All were in favor.  After the meeting was adjourned, member Jim Kress spoke on being a CFI at EAA's sport pilot academy.  This is a three-week accelerated course designed to instruct those desiring to earn their sport pilot certificate.

The next meeting will be Saturday, April 1, 2017.
